LOS ANGELES (AP) — It's four in a row for Nicki Minaj. She picked up her fourth-straight BET Award for best female hip-hop artist last night. She says it's a humbling experience. Miguel wins for best male R-and-B pop artist. He saluted his fellow nominees: Chris Brown, Usher, Justin Timberlake and Bruno Mars. Kendrick Lamar wins best new artist and best male hip-hop artist. He's from the Compton area of L-A and had a message for kids. Lamar says he's "living proof that you can do anything you put your mind to."
The show opened with a performance by Chris Brown, later joined by Nicki Minaj.  Chris Brown received BET's Fandemonium award.
