INSPIRATION: Developing A Stronger Relationship w/ God

Read 1Peter 5:6-7

Everyday we face many obstacles and challenges that can become very overwhelming and stressful at times. Everyone has faced situations in life where they weren't sure what to do, or how to handle it. It is times like these that we should actually rejoice in the Lord that we are never alone. The same God who has promised us He'll "never leave us nor forsake us" cares for us deeply and is eager to display His love for us in every aspect of our lives. God isn't some far away God who is just demanding that we obey Him and do things His way, with no concern with who we are or how we feel. God actually desires an intimate relationship with us more than anything, so much that He sacrificed His own beloved son on the cross just to have that relationship with us. It was hard for me to grasp this truth earlier in my Christian walk. Growing up without a Father, it was hard for me to picture God as a Father who was interested in my life and eager to help me in my every need because I had never experienced that with my earthly Father. I unconsciously carried the mentality of "why would God be interested in my issues or desire to help me?" Especially when I was struggling with sin. When we lay our concerns and cares on the Lord it gives Him an opportunity to display His love for us and build our faith and relationship with Him at the same time. Many of our issues in life lay unresolved because we haven't laid them in the Lords hands. The bible says "you do not have because you do not ask God "(James 4:2).  Sometimes God may hold back the solution to our problem because we have not asked Him, knowing if He would it could easily lead to us to believing we accomplished it in our own strength. But when we ask, it gives Him the opportunity to display His sovereignty and most of all His love and concern. I challenge you to try to make it a habit of laying your concerns at the Lords feet! You would be surprised at what He's willing to do for you! There is nothing too big or too small for the great and mighty Lord.

It's definitely a process growing in our ability to lay our concerns at the Lords feet, but even growing in this essential aspect of developing a relationship with the Lord we can pray for His supernatural assistance and He will assist us He's the best teacher.

PRAY:
Heavenly Father, thank you for loving mercy and grace. I know I make mistakes, but Im thankful that you love me in spite of my shortcomings. Lord I don't wanna carry the burdens in my life alone any more. I pray that you help me to develop a deeper trust and intimacy with you. Holy spirit please help me to develop the habit of laying my burdens and cares at your feet. I desire to be closer to you, but I know I can't do it within myself. I pray and trust you will give me the grace to draw closer to you, and the desire to seek you. Mold me into what you've created me to be. Amen
